Nicky Conti is a New York–based Maltese fine art street photographer and multidisciplinary artist whose work is rooted in the visual language of the city. She photographs the urban landscape through a painterly lens, using natural light and shadow to turn fleeting encounters with architecture and surface into graphic visual compositions.
Alongside her photographic practice, she leads Embodied Moments NYC, a self-produced project in which she translates her city images into couture garments and reintroduces them into the urban landscape. The work consolidates photography, garment design and direction, and on-location re-staging into a single artistic process. Originally from Malta and now based in Manhattan, she continues to develop a practice that moves between still image and the embodied memory of the moment captured.
